Dear Mr. Burton & Mr. Rushing:
I am asking for your support in passing the bill for vaccine rights. I have researched immunity & vaccines thoroughly as I am a biology teacher at East Central Community College. It concerns me that MS has the largest population of vaccinated children, but we lead the nation in infant mortality. We are also the sickest. I have spoken with a school nurse in this area, and she tells me that she has never seen so many sick kids. Autism, Attention Deficit Disorder, and a host of many other learning disorders are more than common at our local schools.
I am also concerned that the pharmaceutical industries are protected. You, by law, cannot sue them. Because of this, there is no accountability for their mistakes.
Vaccines are not a 1 size fits all. Penicillin is a great example of this. This was a great antibiotic, but not everyone can take it. The individuals that were allergic to this antibiotic found out AFTER they were injected with it. This is what we are seeing with vaccines. We don't know how it will affect our children until after they are injected. Also, we do not know what is sitting in our gene pool. The metals, such a mercury and aluminum, that are found in vaccines we know are toxic. No one knows what this is doing to us on the cellular or sub cellular level. An even scarier aspect of vaccines is that doctors are not taught in med school how to diagnose these reactions. This is one reason why many vaccine injuries are not reported.
As a mother of a 10 month old, I am hesitant to put my child in public daycare due to all of the shots that are required upon admittance. Newton County has a great school system, but I am concerned about the amount of vaccines that are mandated before she can start Kindergarten, and because of this my husband and I are looking at homeschooling.
Please consider giving the citizens of Mississippi freedom to choose what is best for their children.
I appreciate each of you.

We need to stop harming our children with all of these vaccines. Research the facts and imagine your child or grandchild being the ones affected.

My nephew was hurt by a vaccine that is mandated in our state. Seeing what him and his parents went though makes me want to see a change. Parents need a choice here in our state concerning vaccinations!

My grandson was vaccine injured, and this opened my eyes that these vaccines can do more harm than good. We as parents need choices in our state to choose what is best for our kids. The bulk of these vaccines is destroying the health of our babies. Please give us choices like all the other states have. Our children deserve better than this. Please listen to us!

I believe that vaccines have a place in a healthy society. In fact, my children are vaccinated. We invested a large amount of time in researching vaccines and chose to vaccinate my daughters with most, but not all, of the recommended vaccines. Due to my conviction as a mother and my family's history, however, we also chose to follow an alternative vaccination schedule instead of putting our children through so many injections at one time. My children received one vaccine at an appointment and then we waited at least a month before giving the next vaccine to allow their immune systems to have the most benefit from the shot as well as having the ability to more clearly monitor what vaccine may have caused a reaction if one takes place. I believe that our society should encourage mothers to be involved and invested in their children's healthcare on all fronts, instead of relying on people not directly involved in their lives to take on the responsibility of those choices. These children are the most precious gifts in our lives, and we, as parents, are the ones who will live with the reality of our choices for our children - not the doctors, legislators, chemists, researchers, or pharmaceutical reps. Doesn't it make sense that we would want to do what is best for each of our children? No two people are the same. Parents should have the right to make the choices that they feel best for each of their children. Education, freedom, and responsibility are vital to our society on all fronts, including the healthcare of our children.

Even though I am not a parent yet, this is a huge fear that I have for my future children. My life was forever changed after I received the Gardasil Vaccine. I had my first stomach spell and broke out in a cold sweat after the first shot; then, I passed out for the first time ever after receiving the second shot of Gardasil, and after the third and final shot I got to the point that fatigue sat in. I could no longer hold my back up straight or stay up late two nights in a row without being extremely ill for a week later. I watched my health decline with no clear answer from age 13-18. No doctor would tell me what was wrong except that my heart raced a lot, I felt sick every time I ate, I woke up in a cold sweat almost every night with severe stomach pain, and I vomited every single morning for over a year and a half. I had no energy anymore. In fact, I had to resort to putting my makeup on in the bed; then, I got to were I couldn't even wear makeup. Then, I found myself wheelchair bound and bed ridden at age 18. My health just kept declining until I reached that point. Now, I know I have Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome and doctors are pretty sure it was caused by that vaccine. Therefore, I lost my whole life as I knew it due to a vaccine. I tried to get better and push myself to attend college and I made it a little while with some breaks in between. I was a 4.0 student at college, but due to my illness caused by vaccine injury I couldn't stay at college. I now spend most of my days in bed. I try to work when I can at my family's business, but that isn't very often anymore. When I was in college, I might have had a 4.0 and been ranked number one in the class, but I was under disability services to handle my absences and let me test in a quite room and have extended test time because sometimes my brain just freezes up. I will know something, and then, it will be gone. However, I'm not a quitter. I would then work on other parts of my test that I currently remembered and then come back to the question that I knew the answer to but had temporarily forgotten. Oh and how I said I passed out the very first time from the second Gardasil vaccine, I wish I could say that was the first and last time I passed out, but things have only gotten worse. I pass out now on average of 10 times a week. Sometimes I pass out a lot more than that, but I don't want to scare people too much about how bad it really is. Some of these passing out episodes even make my eyes roll back in my head and make my body jerk all over- seizure like episodes. After being injured by a vaccine, I started my research and I found out a lot more than I truly wanted to know. I found out what all is really in these vaccines that we take as babies, and my honest first statement after reading this was, "I'm surprised I made it to thirteen without having health problems." There are so many toxins in these vaccines. It is pure scary. No one would actually pick that up and put it in their body if these items were all labeled and laying out buffet style for everyone to serve themselves. Then, you look at the deaths and injuries caused by these vaccines. However, once you actually sit down and find out what is in them, you are sadly not shocked at that, but instead, you are shocked that someone would come up with the idea to put this into little tiny babies bodies. I am not completely against all vaccines, but I believe that with so much at stake, we should be able to make informed decisions and alternate the schedule. I feel that should be a parents own choice.

Mississippi has the highest childhood vaccine rate in the world along with a corresponding infant mortality rate. Vaccine choice is a human rights issue; it does not mean I am anti-vaccine.

This should not be a decision for the government to make. It's a parental right. I want the right to decide what if my child receives vaccines or not. Its taking away our rights as parents to not have vaccine exemptions and then be forced to get them if our child has to go to public school or day care. Thank you.

No one knows a child better than a mother. If she feels that the vaccine caused the child harm then she should have the right to chose. If the child does get one more vaccine and it causes the child to have a serious reaction or even death what do you think she is going to feel like the cause was. Even if it's not a common side effect it doesn't mean that it don't happen. Each child should be treated individually. Not every one has text book reactions. Grown ups have reactions to meds that doctors find hard to believe but no one knows one better than yourself and mothers know how children tolerate things better than any textbook will ever be able to tell. Please consider this when considering if it's mandatory or not. No one will never fully understand until it happens close to home and then it will be too late.

Parents should have the right to decline if they wish to not have certain vaccines administered to their child. The reactions to some of the vaccines is worse than having the disease itself.
