MS parents should have the right to choose a slower vaccination timeline & a more spaced out schedule. Especially the ones of us who's children are suffering from a vaccine injury & cannot get a medical exemption. MS along with W. Virginia are the only 3 states without this right! This is just not! Thank you- Sarah Woods -mother of 4 young children

The chicken pox vaccine is required to attend kindergarten. I am 30 years old and have never had the chicken pox (I was tested when my son was due to get it to make sure). Since the chicken pox vaccine is a live virus, you are contagious after receiving it. That means that for any of my 3 children to attend school, we would all 4 have to go get the vaccine together and run a risk of all getting the chicken pox together since you can get a case of it from the vaccine. This was one of the factors in our decision homeschool our children. The rotovirus is also required to attend school in Mississippi. My first son got the rotovirus vaccine and we had no problems, my second son got it and he got the rotovirus from the vaccine and gave it to my husband, myself and my son who was vaccinated for it a year earlier. That vaccine was taken off of the market for a while due to this problem. Several parents who would like vaccine exemptions are not trying to completely opt out of all vaccines but have their own reasons for not wanting their children to get certain vaccines. But right now in Mississippi, that doesn't matter.

I am not against vaccines. I am against parental rights being violated and usurped. Our children are God-given gifts and we are their stewards. As such, we should ALWAYS be able to make decisions that we believe are in their best interest.

I want the right to decline vaccines for my child. My husband's sister had an allergic reaction to a vaccine and we're afraid it could happen to our baby. Please, we need your help. We deserve the right to decline vaccinations! It is against our religion and yet the state makes us give it to our child so she is able to go to school. It's not right!

We as parents should have the upmost right to decide what is best for our children. Until the healthcare system can clearly state the ingredients in vaccinations not being toxic I will continue to maintain my non-vaccination approach. We as citizens should have the upmost right to decide what is best for our children. Anything less is a dictatorship.

Please give this due consideration. My child is expected to receive a smorgasbord of vaccines and combinations of vaccines that we never received at their age & in a greater amount that we were never expected to receive at one time. This concerns me in regards to trying to do what's in the best interest of my child's health. I want my children to be healthy just like any other good parent. I think it is safe to agree that not all vaccines are created equal, with their benefits outweighing the risks. While some vaccines I feel can be trusted, there are others that are newer or are in newer combinations that are being pushed on my child. It makes me wonder how much different our kids are being treated in the school system than guinea pigs in regards to vaccine requirements.

Being forced to take vaccinations does not sound like something that would be forced upon people in a supposedly FREE COUNTRY!!! I did not have all the ones they are pushing now (just extra $ for doctors) & I'm FINE! Why should my daughter be forced to?

This is not just a parents rights issue, it is a human rights issue. My children are vaccinated, but I am lucky enough to have a caring and understanding Physician that worked with me on a delayed schedule. I am so thankful for him and I firmly believe every parent should have this choice and should never be bullied into making decisions based on questionable data and fraudulent relationships between the vaccine manufacturers and government agencies. You cannot force mandatory vaccines for all. To do so would be both barbaric and akin to tactics used by Hitler and his ilk. Mississippi parents, and especially our children, deserve better!!

I am a person who believes in choices and not mandates. It should be an option to choose to or not to vaccinate. Vaccine safety is not revealed at clinics, and we are never told of the ingredients in them prior to receiving them. The growth mediums are very controversial, for example, the use of human fetuses. So there needs to be a religious and philosophical reason for not choosing to vaccinate in Mississippi. Please allow parents and future parents to have a choice in caring for our children's safety. Thank you

You irresponsible lunatics. Immunized children against preventable disease is the least we can do for our kids, who need so much more than the bare minimum. Shame on you. Please do not alter our immunization laws. The health--and lives--of our kids depend on it. Vote no on hb130.

I do believe that some vacines may be helpful and even necessary however the rate and dosage at which they are administered is extream and a parent should have options. Authentic medical facts should be discussed with parents and non combination vaccinations be offered. On a different note this country is allowing homosexuals rights which is an abomination of Gods design. Legislators have a huge responsibility to do what is right by Gods example not mans.

I have seen the number of doses of vaccines go from 18, when my oldest two children were small, to 49 with my youngest. I feel I should have the right to decide what is injected into my children. I understand that vaccinating children has reduced the number of preventable deaths, but information and access should be the driving force, not legislation.

As a pregnant woman, the thought of having to immunize my child with so many vaccinations when she is born terrifies me. I think that vaccines are a wonderful thing, however, I would love the option of using an alternative vaccination schedule just to slow things down a bit. When I grew up in the 80's, we were only given 7 vaccinations with only 1 shot at a time. Now, children are mandated to receive 24 vaccinations, sometimes getting 5 shots at a time. That is just too many at one time in my opinion. Please give parents the right to decide what type of medical treatment they deem safe for their children. It is a parent's right, not the government's right. Support HB130!
