While I am not anti-vaccine, I do believe that parents should have the right to make the decisions concerning their child's health care, not the government. I have the right to decide if my child will take an antibiotic for their illness, I should have the same right to decide if I feel vaccines are the right choice for my child or not. The way MS's laws are now, I can't even decide to spread the vaccines out, rather than giving my child multiple vaccines together at one time if I want to send my child to daycare or school. Instead, I am being forced to stay out of the work force and homeschool my child due to our outdated laws, and have even considered moving to a different state so my child can have the same opportunities as other children.

48 other states allow parents to refuse vaccines for moral reasons; yet Mississippi parents have no such rights. Medical exemptions are limited to less than a couple dozen a year and doctor's that request an exemption are threatened with losing their license. So if our children in MS get seizures from a vaccine, and that vaccine requires three additional boosters, we, as parents, have no legal way to protect our children. Big government will force us to put our children at risk. In consideration of House Bill 130, I respectfully request that you restore parental rights in Mississippi.

Please allow us the choice to have alternative vaccine schedules as our children's health may dictate. Spacing vaccines and giving them one at a time is very important for some children because of health concerns, and overloading a sensitive immune system. Barbara S mith RN CCM

My daughter has had terrible side effects to the Gardasil vaccine, among others. I believe that certain vaccines are beneficial, but within reason. The amount of vaccines pumped into our children now is ridiculous. I think that this should be a parents right. Yes, we need vaccines to prevent things like small pox and polio from resurfacing, but it should be on a much broader timeline. And every new drug that hits the market should not be forced into our children. Immigrants should be the main target here, not children who have lived in this country their entire lives. Make sure those children are up to date on the basic vaccines, but no they are allowed to come into public schools and bring in whooping couch etc. It happened to my daughter a few years ago (due to Islamic religious beliefs those children were allowed to come into the public schools without proper vaccines) there needs to be a line drawn, but not with the 2nd,3rd,4th etc generational citizens of this state and country!

The United States became the greatest nation in the world because of our constitution guarding the rights of citizens allowing them to make decisions for themselves and their children. I want Mississippi to be lead the way in restoring this concept to the nation. Educate and make available if desired but don't steal the rights and freedom from the Mississippi citizen by mandating something against their will. Health is personal and should be left to the individual to decide. Being forced to medicate against my will is the ultimate form of loss of freedom. Let the individual decide, please.

If the State of Mississippi mandates parents to vaccinate their children with these scientifically unproven toxins, then Mississippi must be required to pay for any and all damages to the child's health resulting from the state's abuse of power.

Non vaccinated kids are not a threat to children's health. In fact, new studies out show it actually in reverse- unvaccinated kids have lower incidence of illness. There is so much mis-information out there that ties right back to profits for vaccine makers instead of allowing each family to research and choose for themselves. It is time that Mississippi children had a fighting chance of being healthier than they are now. I fully support choice. I am blessed we can live on one income family- and home school our kids (of which all are above national average every year in SAT testing, way above average in MS scoring), but not everyone has this opportunity. What are parents to do if they both must work to provide, or are a single parent? They must have choices to be able to do what is best for their child's situation and still be a working member of society, run a business that provides jobs for others and its a win win for everyone. Please, consider the research and vote for choice- we live in the most heavily vaccinated state, and are the sickest state- vaccines do not make our kids healthier. In fact, they weaken our immune systems by bypassing the natural immunity processes. Not to mention the risks due to injecting additives, aborted fetal cells, etc straight into our blood stream.

No one knows and loves Mississippi children more than their parents do. Parents welcome things like Vaccines and Doctors and help to keep their children healthy, however, sometimes there are reasons that Parents and/or Doctors may need to tweek a shot schedule due to the individual needs of a child. It is that simple.
